About Key Change

At Key Change Music Therapy, we believe that everyone deserves a space where they feel seen, supported, and empowered. Our sessions are inclusive, play-based, and trauma-informed, designed to nurture growth through music, creativity, and connection. Whether working with children, teens, families, or adults, we focus on meeting each person where they are, fostering emotional safety, joy, and meaningful progress through the shared experience of music.

Serving children and families across southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois, including the Madison area and surrounding counties, Key Change Music Therapy provides compassionate, research-informed care for those navigating developmental differences, neurological conditions, trauma, and mental health needs. Each session is designed to meet every person where they are, using music as a bridge to growth, connection, and meaningful key changes along the way.

About Danielle Christian, MSEd, MT-BC, WMTR

Hi, I’m Danielle (“Ms. Danni”), a board-certified music therapist and the founder of Key Change Music Therapy. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy from Alverno College in 2015 and have been practicing professionally ever since.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working in a variety of settings — including schools, hospitals, childcare centers, and private practice — supporting individuals and families through the power of music. In 2020, I completed my Master’s degree in Education from UW–Stevens Point, which strengthened my work with a trauma-informed and research-based approach grounded in healthy child development.

My experience includes working with children and adults with developmental and neurological differences, mental health needs, trauma histories, and other special needs. I’m passionate about helping each person use music to build confidence, express themselves, and reach meaningful goals in a supportive and engaging environment.

I’ve been proud to provide music therapy services in the Madison area for many years, including serving families through the CLTS waiver program. At Key Change, my goal is to meet each child and family where they are, and to use the power of music to support growth, connection, and joy — one key change at a time.
